SGT John " Mac " McConnell I've been to the monument many times when I've gone to Strugis for the Rally. Just doesn't look like the Government or the State wants to finish it - just my opinion

A minor correction; it is Ft. Robinson, not Ft Robertson.
I have been to the fort a couple of times,, when we walk across the grounds, one can almost feel the presence of those from the past. It was also the location of the tragedy told about in "Cheyenne Autumn."
Regarding the monument, that is being done by a private foundation. They have very limited funds, thus the slow rate of work being done. It is estimated that there is no one alive today that will be around to see compilation. We sell our crafts there sometimes. They have numerous events throughout the year.
The Black Hills (Paha Sapa) is very special to many people of the plains, including the Lakota and Cheyenne. Every American should visit here at least once.
