I went to the Masters in 1974, while attending the Signal Officer Basic Course at Fort Gordon. Back then, all Army personnel could attend by wearing a dress uniform, showing a military ID and paying a nominal fee. I went to practice and tournament rounds. Now, the Army just gets a few tickets that are given away via a lottery.
Gary Player won that year.

Great history, if I remember from my days going to catechism Pope Benedict XVI is the only German to be Pope.

Thanks for sharing significant events of March 25 Maj Marty Hogan
The civil right events of 1965 are significant to me "1965: The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King completed the Selma-Montgomery march as he led " 25,000 people to the Alabama state capitol in Montgomery after a five-day march from Selma to protest the denial of voting rights to blacks. Later that day, civil rights activist Viola Liuzzo, a white Detroit homemaker, is shot and killed by Ku Klux Klansmen."
