CSM Charles Hayden, everyone else keeping them from migrating, mostly. And if they have a safe place to live, protected from the war, with all of the food, shelter, and facilities that they need, it would be preferable to walking across Europe, baggage in hand, exposed to the elements.

I am not surprised that the Pentagon which is still largely filled by former POTUS Obama appointees at the top level, is skeptical about President Donald Trumps call for establishing safe zones inside Syria.
It would be great to keep as many refugees in the home country of Syria, Iraq and potentially Turkey if unrest and government crackdown continues there.
I think it makes great sense to create safe zones in Syria and get help from Arab league nations to help safeguard the refugees.

LTC Stephen F., this is the only rational solution to the problem, IMHO.

Too early to tell anything yet. I'm sure all kinds of crazy possible actions are considered. If this is put into action I'll have some choice words however.
