SGT John " Mac " McConnell thanks for sharing this little known but of history of German U boats working so close to our shore during WWII. I am sure glad they didn't have the capacity of a boomer, war might have had a different outcome.

SGT John " Mac " McConnell - I read an article some time ago about a U boat that made it deep into the St Lawrence seaway and know of several that were sunk off the east coast. It's odd that most of this isn't taught in our history.

SGT John " Mac " McConnell Read a Book once about the Battle for the Atlantic (Including the Gulf of Mexico) about the U-Boat Menace, Took Us a While to Catch On. Thank God for The Brits and Finally the US getting their Hands on the Enigma.

SGT John McConnel - Thanks for the excellent and hidden history lesson today!
Every student in Texas schools used to take a Texas history class in junior high, this is the first time I am hearing how close that we actually came to the enemy during WWII.
I can very well imagine the panic it would have caused if our government had told the public about it.
Thank you for the share.
