I had one "bad" year because I was in the IRR for a few weeks switching in between the ARNG and being picked up in the Army Reserve. I had 11 months and 16 days so I had to do 21 years to get my 20 year letter. I now have almost 25 years now. 3 deployments (Operation Noble Eagle, OIF 3/4 and OEF) so we are no longer weekend warriors. We will stay relevant and ready since some consider climate change mitigation the biggest threat to mankind. I disagree. We have to put people and money into being ready for the next war. Russia and China are gearing up and bullying NATO, Crimea, South China Sea and Taiwan. Stay ready !

Did 3 deployments, but the main reason I stayed for 20 was the health care, most companies now days are not providing healthcare for retirees.
