Been saying that for Years!!! They should have Billets for active duty members, and solid VETS in there. Its a win, win the Vets can help mentor the Active Duty and they can all Help each other work through the system. But what do we know right?

Can't do that, they might fix it. Somebody has been eyeballing all VA assets for a long time, hence all the bad press. I've used VA since punching in 98, including surgery and have no complaints. You have to be flexible and patient, but know when to call BS. I've called the VAMC Administrator's office on occasion to get things done. Pre-planned obsolescence to make room for private sector to scoop it all up for next to nothing. All about the Benjamins.

The VA has been corrupt for years and riding on the backs of Vets who can least afford good medical care. Getting rid of 1700 low-level employees is not the key to reform by any measure IMO. Let's start at the top to middle of the LOCAL VA hospitals and clinics. This is especially important if we are going to ever change the mentality of the system. Some of the people who have been there for YEARS, especially underperforming Doctors and Nurses need to be replaced, not orderlies in their first weeks who have already picked up bad habits from their supervisors.
Remove the old bad habits and the people who perpetuate them. Once that is done then you have room for growth.
