Thanks for letting us know SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL that Rep. Jeff Miller could well be nominated as the next Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs. It would be very appropriate if the main face of Republican VA reform efforts since the 2014 wait times scandal, who forced the resignation of then department Secretary Eric Shinseki, assumes the role of VA Secretary.
He would certainly be a force to reckon with as he reformed the VA from the inside.

This is indeed good news to me! I have something personally that I would like to talk about. The White House 24 hour hotline is of particular interest to me. It is refreshing to see that a new head of the VA could be chosen that will actually listen to veteran’ needs and has been his cause to help Veterans get fair treatment and have ideas that will address the problems now that the VA faces accept continuing the same treatment plans that ignore the veterans in favor of maintaining the status quo.The VA touts it’s abilities to serve veterans through. Innovations in technologies but the reality is that these innovations don’t help much for veterans unless the staff is willing to help every veteran no matter his confusion or inability. Also, mentally ill patients should be helped by ways other than just medication management. Group therapy and individual therapy should be available to all these patients. They are often ignored and categorized as being non useful and subclass members of society and are sometimes feared. They are viewed as a burden and maybe they are but many can be helped and not just contribute and not just controlled by medicine. I am 67 years old and a disabled veteran since 1976. If it were not for my wife and the help I have gotten I would not be alive. However, I have gotten off the medicine mostly on my own and my brain has healed to the point I am thinking of going back to college online and giving back. I do have a specific gripe about my care that I was not informed about stage four cancer that showed up on on two CT scans. I am getting treatment outside the VA system since I trust the VA doctors with treating me for cancer. I am proud to be a veteran and the privilege to live freely in the USA and am grateful for those serving and who have served.
