Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - I cede the point...except

The New York Times found that for threats that led to indictments, "more than a third were made by Republican or pro-Trump individuals against Democrats or Republicans deemed insufficiently loyal to the former president, and nearly a quarter were by Democrats targeting Republicans."

So, maybe the left is also ramping up its threats against the right? And it not just Trump supporters.

Some what aboutisms:

_Rep Maxine Waters
“Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out, and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,”

_Sen Cory Booker
told activists to “get up in the face of some congresspeople”

_Rep Joaquin Castro
“fight [Trump] and challenge him in every way that we can in the Congress, in the courts, and in the streets and protests,”

_Former Attorney General Eric Holder
told liberal activists that Michelle Obama was wrong; “When they go low, we go high. No. No. When they go low, we kick them."

_Sen Jon Tester
said that in order to take on Trump, you have to “punch him in the face”

_Former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi
said of getting active in politics, “When you’re in the arena, you have to be ready to take a punch and you have to be ready to throw a punch”

David Kustoff (R-Tenn.) had his car nearly run off the road and was then threatened. Indivisible Team protests at Dana Rohrabacher’s office (R-CA.) ended with a 71-year-old female staffer being injured by the actions of the leftist protesters.

On September 9, Rudy Peters, the Republican running for Congress in the 15th District in California, was attacked by a knife-wielding man shouting, “F___ Trump”.

Shane Mekeland, a Republican running for the Minnesota House of Representatives, suffered a concussion after being punched in the face at a restaurant. “You f____g people don’t give a s___ about the middle class,” his assailant had shouted at him.

Minnesota, State Rep. Sarah Anderson, a Republican, was punched by a man when she tried to stop him from vandalizing her campaign signs.

Kristin Davison, the campaign chief for Adam Laxalt, the Republican candidate for governor in Nevada, was left with pain and bruises after a confrontation with a Democrat operative. Her alleged assailant faces a charge of misdemeanor battery.

Maj John Bell Democrats hate whataboutisms.

When I give a political rant here on RP, I say -'whataboutisms are authorized-, just to get them angry by using a verbal spoiling attack.

I do the same thing telling them that call. I'm your racist or bigoted,it will just make me laugh at you. I joke that they think that calling somebody racist is their version of a tactical nuclear weapon, But I eat those words like chocolate.

I also like rubbing it in their face. That my mother came to the USA Legally from Honduras. She applied at the u s embassy there and she did not get social assistance. She came to the USA with a master's degree in social work and spoke english. This really p***** off the left because they wanna call me racist. But yet I'm half Hispanic and I probably speak better.Spanish than many of the lefty's who have Spanish surnames.

Some leftist Democrats should be also charged with sedition.

I do notice that Jack has moved the conversation from his claims about anti-vaxxers to try and make it about political rhetoric when he was beat over the head with facts from the CDC regarding measles.

It's amazing he uses a meme about HIM providing facts to others when it was the other way around. Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen, your meme is not applicable because nobody was asking you to provide facts for your argument. What was happening is that we were proving your emotional argument to be wrong with facts.

What you did is ignore the facts and try to move the goalpost to something else. I noticed this is typically something that happens when the left is confronted with reality instead of rhetoric they heard in their echo-chamber.

They can keep it...I don't want anything to do with measles...whatever happened to exposure parties like when we were kids?

Nothing like a good outbreak in an election year...or so I have heard!

Florida is 1 or 11 states to encounter measles so far in 2024; others are --->California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Washington. The exclusion of data is just as bad as dis/misinformation https://www.newsweek.com/measles-map-states-reported-cases-2 [login to see]

Yep, the progressive outrage warriors of the left always seem to mindlessly devour any article without bothering to look beyond the bias of the writer or publication.

"Florida is particularly vulnerable to a measles outbreak, given the low MMR vaccination rates in the state. You need the population to be about 95% vaccinated so you don't start seeing these kinds of outbreaks."

The CDC reports "As of February 29, 2024, a total of 41 measles cases were reported by 16 jurisdictions: Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York City, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington."

States with outbreaks that have a 95%+ vaccination with >2 does of MMR (according to the CDC): California - 96.5%, Maryland - 96.7%, New York City - 97.3%, and Virginia 95.8%

Hmm.... maybe this has something to do with the lack of medical screening going on with the illegal immigrants coming in and the severe decline in measles vaccination in the countries the majority of them are coming from.

"Doctors across the country say it’s rare that migrants receive medical screenings or anything beyond care for medical emergencies when they arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border" (https://apnews.com/article/immigration-migrants-border-health-care-us-mexico-79353b08f07933f66961a7f07cf3e397)

"The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has issued an alert, urging countries of the Americas to update their response plans to prevent the re-establishment of endemic transmission of measles virus." ... "regional coverage for the first dose of measles, mumps and rubella vaccine (MMR) was 85%. Only six countries reached the recommended level of 95% or more needed to sustain elimination of these diseases, and ten countries reported coverage of less than 80%" (https://www.paho.org/en/news/9-2-2023-vaccination-coverage-declines-paho-warns-potential-measles-outbreaks)

But I wouldn't have expected Charlie of all people, one of the staunchest supporters of illegal immigration, to belittle those crossing the border the wrong way with a comment like "yea... don't get the vaccine... idots..."

SFC John D. - Yeah, odd comment coming from Charlie, he's not addressing or insulting anybody on here with his vaccine comment. Everybody who served that's currently on RP has received the Measles Vaccine. It was a part of our entry vaccinations at MEP or Reception at Basic. Kind of an odd comment considering nobody on here is against the measles vaccine. He must be confussed on what vaccination we're talking about. Maybe he just got his latest COVID update. One side affect of this year's vaccine is confusion and brain fog. Nothing like opening one's mouth and removing all doubt. Your right, the only people that comment is directed towards, would be those crossing the border illegally. Since, most if not all of them, don't even have the US's basic vaccine requirements.

Interesting how blue states are avoiding the stigma of having cases of measles. Hmm...why is that? Especially since Washington had the privilege of the first covid deaths...
