I feel that this is an extremely personal item for me. My biological dad who served honorably for 12 years in the Army and was medically discharged, was treated at a VA Hospital in Orange NJ and after operating on his leg, was left alone in his room, not being cared for, for at least a week. Because of that he had many more complications due to the lack of care and immense disrespect to my father SSG. William E. Lynch, USA. He passed away from throat cancer in 2011. But everyday I think back and know that we could have had more time if only someone had taken the time to do their job and care for this veteran who was entrusted to their care. Now this Marine will get off his soapbox. Did I mention that he worked for the VA as a Senior Department Head for Ground Care at a VA facility in New Jersey.

I know everyone is discouraged by these elections but come on. Do you really think that Trump, Hillary or a third party can undo this mess? The VA has been in complete disarray since its inception. Let's not kid ourselves. Republican or Democrat, it simply doesn't matter. The VA always gets its money. In my opinion, Veteran's Choice is a great idea but like with anything new, it has its bugs. This should have been done over 20 years ago. We as Veterans need to do more. Its obvious that those we elect are not doing it. Who has the better drive than someone that served their country? There will always be battles to be fought; no matter if your are in uniform or not. If its worth fighting for, then fight.
