Okay CW5 Jack Cardwell I noticed this FORBES article does not mention the SOAR unit's helicopter capabilities. That is not surprising that Forbes is focused on the low end rotary wing capabilities.
1, The USAF is keeping UH-1s maintained in support of their nuclear fleet.
2. The USMC has far fewer helicopters and infrastructure.
3. Rotary wing helicopter maintenance tends to be joint at the depot level. Army has the principal depot capabilities for helicopters
4. Unique helicopters may be maintained via logistics contracts for the specified number of years on the support contract..
5. The Osprey is maintained by the US Navy at MCAS Miramar.
