Pamphlets—unbound printed publications with no covers or with paper covers—are published about all kinds of subjects, but our word pamphlet traces back to one particular document. It derives from the title of a short Latin love poem of the 12th century: Pamphilus, seu De Amore, which can be translated as "Pamphilus, or On Love." The name Pamphilus referred to a Greek god whose name means "loved by all." Following from this, the original pamphlets were handwritten poems, tracts, or treatises, often consisting of several pages bound together. Pamphleteer, which can be both a noun and a verb, combines pamphlet with the -eer suffix found in such words as engineer and puppeteer.
Examples :
Though he is remembered today for his novels and essays, George Orwell was also known to pamphleteer for causes important to him.

well my literary-minded friend SGT John " Mac " McConnell I was tied up yesterday and not by pamphleteers. Here in northern Virginia in the late 1990s Lyndon Hermyle LaRouche Jr.'s folks were active pamphleteers at intersections primarily. I debated a few about his view that Great Britain and particularly the Royal family was the root of all evil :-)
There have been many honorably pamphleteers form Jonathan Swift to Benjamin Franklin to those behind the underground railroad to supporting voting rights for all.
In the age of the internet and rapid mas communication, we can be bombarded with they online version of pamphlets peddled by pamphleteers who seek profit from peddling their screed :-)
Of course their have also been pernicious pamphleteers peddling their perfidious pamphlets as they painstakingly attempted to pry the paltry earnings from the pious poor. Hopefully those days are numbered.

SGT John " Mac " McConnell, considering all the DA Pams (abbreviation for Department of the Army Pamphlet), I think I can say that the U.S. Army is is the most prolific pamphleteer in the United States!
