In this case the Thompson Sub-Machine-Gun, the M-19 A2 Browning Automatic Rifle, 30 caliber M-1919 Browning medium machine gun
From the perspective of the soldiers assaulting the beaches, individual and crew-served weapons were critical. However what they would have preferred were accurate naval gunfire and accurate aircraft delivered bombs and missiles against the defensive fortifications of the Atlantic Wall.
