I use a simple simple act to trick my brain by using positive affirmations in front of the mirror.

MAJ Ken Landgren
Cynthia C. - My eyes became watery as I read your post because I know how much pain PTSD gives you. So you are saying you can be objective about the big picture now vs experiencing swirling symptoms of PTSD? I want to enclose a list that help you out.
My Personal Journey With PTSD.
- Instead of looking for reasons to die, look at reasons to live. My reason was to live for the family.
- Cut the chains to the anchor keeping you back.
- Dealing with depression: Open your heart and mind to what you love and acknowledge the beauty around you. Depression will go down as you work on different symptoms.
- Dealing with stress: Attack stressors one at a time. Pick the closest stressors that impact your life and move further out.
- Dealing with racing thoughts: I repeatedly said it was in the past, and it does not matter now.
- There was a time I became numb to protect myself, but it is not the state you want to be in for a long time.
- I eventually accepted myself. I determined I won the battle and accepted my New
Normal.
- The bonus of accepting yourself is your wings will get stronger and you will learn to fly again.

Yes sir.

Indeed it was. He was required listening in our household when he was broadcast Saturday or Sunday evenings on WOR radio growing up.
