Biden’s Afghanistan Policy a Tragic, Avoidable Failure

From Jonah Goldberg in early June: I think Joe Biden’s decision to fully withdraw U.S. forces from Afghanistan is a mistake. It’s mistaken on strategic and moral grounds. I hope I’m wrong. But when even administration officials and experts who favor the decision concede that our pullout—of a very small contingent of troops—could result in a Taliban takeover, it seems a safe bet that it will happen (The Dispatch). https://thedispatch.com/p/we-must-help-the-afghan-interpreters
From Mike Pence: The Biden Administration’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan dishonors the memory of those heroic Americans who gave the last full measure of devotion and all who bravely served there defending freedom these past 20 years. God Bless Our Troops & Our Allies in this Dark Hour (Twitter). From CNN’s Jake Tapper: “Does President Biden not bear the blame for this disastrous exit from Afghanistan?” (Twitter). https://twitter.com/NickFondacaro/status/ [login to see] 31052544
From Rich Lowry: Biden choose to lose a war, empower jihadis, throw a people back into medieval darkness, and humiliate the United States based on a witless talking point—“forever wars” was always an invitation to throw away minimal, sustainable commitments for chaos instead (Twitter). https://twitter.com/RichLowry/status/ [login to see] 90201606
Part of the statement from Senator Mitch McConnell: The Biden Administration’s botched exit from Afghanistan including the frantic evacuation of Americans and vulnerable Afghans from Kabul is a shameful failure of American leadership (Twitter). From Senator Ben Sasse: While Afghanistan falls to jihadi militants, our Afghan allies are on the verge of slaughter, and America gets humiliated, President Biden hides out at Camp David. It’s unacceptable. The mission at this point ought to be simple: bolster American troops and firepower until we can get flights running around the clock. The Taliban must not dictate when every last American, our courageous Afghan partners, and their families are off the tarmac” (Twitter). https://twitter.com/guypbenson/status/ [login to see] 51058691
Then we get this from Nancy Pelosi: The President is to be commended for the clarity of purpose of his statement on Afghanistan and his action. The Taliban must know the world is watching its actions. We are concerned about reports regarding the Taliban’s brutal treatment of all Afghans, especially women and girls (Twitter).

LTC Stephen F. "Could" should have been "WILL". Media will spin this for him and declare it an all time major successful operation and label him as a hero and the President who ended the Afghanistan War (avoiding any mention of the chaotic, disastrous and deadly manner he carried out this debacle). Does the word "TRUTH" even exist anymore?

We have a life debt to the Afghani's who helped our nation. If we don't get them out their deaths will be our fault. This is shameful.

I’m sick to my stomach, watching the calamitous failure of our government to protect our Afghan partners and their families from the Taliban. It’s worse than the fall of Saigon in 1975, the Taliban are far more barbaric than were the North Vietnamese butchers. The WSJ this morning is full of news reports and opinion pieces on the situation in Kabul. They will break your heart.
