My favorite place is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. If I could I would go there almost everyday of the year to hike the trails. There are about 900 miles of trail but I have only hiked maybe 125 miles of them so far. Halloween 2020 my daughter and I walked the Cades Cove Loop Road.* That part was eleven miles and we also hiked to Abram Falls. Simply beautiful. Here is a link to our hike. Twelve minutes of your life you will never get back!

Next year she want to hike Mt. LeConte with me. I have hiked it many times but she never has. It will be quite an adventure.

*If you do go to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and enjoy history, step back in time to the 1800's and go to Cades Cove. Lots of old original log homes. The oldest was built in 1821.

LBL is a good walk. Watch out for Bison and Elk. Smokies are a gem too.

Follow up. We hiked Mt. LeConte today, 13 October 2021. My son, my oldest daughter & her boyfriend hiked up and back. Quite a feat seeing how her boyfriend really wasn't in shape for it but I prodded him along the way and wouldn't let him give up. After we finished he was glad I pushed him but along the way, well, that's another story!

Two choices;
Short hike: Mickelson Trail through the Black Hills from Deadwood to Edgemont. 109 Miles. Lots of places to find access.
Long hike: Pacific Coast Trail from Canada to Mexico (almost. 2,650 miles
Rode horseback for a 3 day trip back in the mid-80's in Washington state.
