No surprise to me. There is no guidance or leadership on mask wearing at the state or national level. I spoke to a nurse at one of my doctors recently, and she said she had several patients that REFUSED to wear a mask! I don't want to visit my doctors with a bunch of people not wearing a mask or social distancing. How this got so politicized is a mystery to me.

According the National Response Framework, HHS should take the lead to provide medical information, coordination, and guidance; but by appearances it seems that the administration has washed their hands of COVID-19. Accountability has been passed from the federal to the state level, and states use different standards opening up their states.
It got really political because Trump and his administration screwed the preparation, execution, and mitigation for the pandemic in almost every possible way possible. The pandemic is not over and we still need centralized help instead of 50 states trying to do their own things to mitigate the pandemic. This is a national disaster thus the federal government should be leading and supporting states.
The GOP response is they did a great job preparing for the pandemic. It is a Democratic hoax and Obama is at fault. There was no plan for them to follow. Stopping travel indicates early and robust planning. From the other side of their mouth they said nobody expected this. It's China's fault, and Trumpers believed all this crap.

Mayors of both Tampa and St Petersburg have made wearing masks mandatory as of 1800 tonight. I just got back from my weekly trip to the battle zone, err grocery store, and less than half the people were wearing masks despite the fact that new cases in our county is spiking. Sorry, Iwear a mask and prefer to not get sick no matter my political point of view.

MAJ Ken Landgren I'd say it's safe now if they do like here. You must make an appointment and must wear a mask all the time. The barber also must set up social distancing, always wear a mask and take your temperature when you come in. I was more scared about a dental appointment I had on the 3rd but that went fine and followed all the procedures listed above.

SGT (Join to see) Actually I'm out and about more than normal, wife is extremely high risk, even gets calls from the Base every couple of weeks to check her status. So all the essentials that she used to do fall on me, but still don't feel comfortable, mainly because of all who aren't wearing masks.
