I know a couple Transgenders online who collect and restore Antique radios, and they are rather militant. I gave up trying to reason with them that specialized surgery takes years of additional training, but it didn't fit their agenda. Neither have served in the Military, yet one still damns Trump for not allowing or requiring the US Military to provide that surgery.
I couldn't get decent medical care on Active Duty, yet they think it should be mandatory. The only 'care' I received was after I passed out and fell to the floor of a classroom, after a double PT session at around 100 degrees. I woke up in the hospital at Ft. Knox about a half hour later.
They have no clue.

It was a good thing that I was able to stand, before I passed out. No telling what that idiot would have done to me if he thought that I had fallen asleep.

PO2 Fred Dunn - I was drafted, in spite of five medical 4F ratings, because I worked in Industrial Electronics. I was born sick, and have had problems most of my 67 years on Earth. I am now 100% disabled. I had to file Non Service Connected, because the files for that and other medical issues could not be located.
That Drill Sargent kept trying to get me to react, to get me into the Boxing ring to beat the shit out of me. He backed off when he saw me pick up and toss a large coil of 1.5" rope onto a flatbed truck, without help. I might not have been able to run worth a damn, but two months earlier I got mad and picked up a Pontiac 389 short block without help. If he had got me mad enough, he would have been in that hospital. I consider anything that I can pick up to be a fair weapon, when someone else starts a fight.
That included a smart mouthed punk 'Street fighter' from NYC while I was in Basic. He kept trying to pick a fight. I walked out of the Latrine one day, and he was waiting. "It's just you and me here, and we're going to settle this!" I sighed and said, "OK." I grabbed him by the throat and held him against the wall with his feet off the floor. His eyes went wide. I smiled and asked, "You don't know why I'm in the Army, do you?" He grunted, "Drafted. Like me!" I laughed. "If that makes you feel better, but that isn't what that dress wearing judge said. I was accused of strangling three people to death, but they had no evidence so they trumped up some other charges. He asked if I wanted to go to prison or into the Army?" I squeezed a bit tigther and smiled."I told the old fool, 'Send me to the Army, I want to have some fun!' Then I got right in his face and whispered, "Do you want to be number four?" I dropped him on his ass, and he scurried out of the barracks. A good bluff is more effective than a fight, and small minds are so much fun to play with!
He never looked me in the eye again, and a lot of other people avoided me until the end of Basic. :)
