I am thinking some of my frequented spots you won't want to visit. Kosovo however is very nice in the large cities. Just be aware of your surroundings. Anyone else give her some advice?

If Your Doing London, Let Me Recommend the Columbia Hotel. Where the Navy used to Put Up Sailors that Arrived for Duty in London, Where Rhodes Scholars First stay upon arrival and last stay upon departure while they are studying in England and Hangout for Budding Rock Stars. Learn to Be Open Minded, while we are just now starting to come to terms with Different Gender Types in this country, Spend some time in Asia and You quickly realize that they recognize Several Different Variants without Much Issue. Step Off the Beaten Path, Don't go for the Ritzy Places but You don't have to hang out in the Dives Either (Although as a Sailor I could Usually Could be Found on the Wrong side of the Railroad Tracks) I rather Liked Hotel St in Oahu and Magsaysay Dr in Olongapo. Visit the Buddhist Temples, Truly Heaven on Earth even if You are Not Religious by Nature. Keep Track of the Exchange Rates, You can Make out like a Bandit sometimes. 3 Marks to a Dollar when I was in Germany and that was great. If Your Think of Heading Out, Review the Profiles of Folks here for where You are traveling too and ask them for the latest and greatest on the Location. Bon Voyage.

I like going to small towns in foreign countries. Best time I had in Europe, and its was relatively cheap, a Bed and Breakfast in Monte Romano, Italy. I was on a liaison visit to the Italian Army and they were three days late showing up.
The town is small, I'm guessing no more that 1200-1500 people. The elderly couple that ran the B&B didn't speak a word of English, I didn't speak a word of Italian; so we limped along based on the similarities between Spanish and Italian.
The old man became my personal tour guide. In the morning he took me to see the sights, after lunch a couple of hours sitting in the side walk cafes surrounding the town square eating cheese and bread, drinking wine, playing gin rummy and watching pretty girls walk by. Then we'd go fly fishing, get home for dinner. He'd get dressed down for neglecting his chores. Back to the square, this time with his wife, where we would spend a few more hours sitting in the side walk cafes surrounding the town square eating cheese and bread, drinking wine, pretending to play chess, but really watching pretty girls walk by.

If you are going to some Countries that were in Eastern Europe it's generally best to go on a supervised tour as there are many potential pitfalls if you don't know your way around. Good trips are usually available through the Army or military Rec Centers
