I was asked this question in my class yesterday and it made me think, my first memories of a President is Bush Sr. I think it's been downhill since then. I grew up a Republican but at this point I don't know if I can make a connection between Republican era Bush and Republican era Trump. So I ask everyone in your opinion who is the best President in your lifetime. To include world leaders if you don't think any President has lived up to the ideals and respect of the American people.

I would have to say Reagan. Each has had their issues, but to be honest I do not see the President as more than a figure head. He is the face of a Nation while he sits in the office. I think some are more charismatic than others- some have business sense- some seem to be punishing the country for past sins. The better question would be how many times have you voted for someone that has stagnated progress and growth in the House and Senate. President can promise a lot, but if the deadheads in the halls are allowed to continue pork at its finest....well we will never really move forward and merely change dates on the calendar.

Maj Marty Hogan Sgt Adrian Jones Definitely a Challenging Question. JFK was a Rock Star of His Age but I was Only in Kindergarten or 1st Grade when He was Assassinated. Ike was President when I was Born and More of a Legend than anything Real and or Tangible to Me. LBJ While Mired in Vietnam was a Key Mover and Shaker of the Civil Rights Movement (Back Alley Political Arm Twisting for a Good Cause) Nixon Sucked by You Have to Admire his Re-connection with China. I will always Politically be a Big Fan of the Guy that could Play a Sax and Signed all My Retirement Paperwork (I Retired Off Bill Clinton's Flag Ship, USS Arkansas CGN-41). I Heavily Campaigned for President Obama on Line and I was Never Disappointed in Him. I thought the World of the Great Communicator Ronny Reagan but He Lost His shine with Time realizing that the last few Years of His Administration Early Onset Alzheimers had already started and His Staff were really Running things also Most of the Really Shitty things I did as a Navy Spook and was Most Directly Involved with was during the Reagan Administration. Guess I would have to Go #1 Ike (I can't Help It I Like Legends), #2 Obama, #3 JFK (I'm a Hopeless Romantic) #4 Bill Clinton (In Spite of His Philandering Ways) #5 Ronald Reagan, #6 Jimmy Carter (Great Man but accomplished More After His Presidency than any other President). Gerald Ford (Kept this Country together in a Rough Time). Nixon (If Not for His Paranoia, He Might have made a Great President)

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - A pretty good list. Of course I don't agree with all of them, but close to it. :=)

Not an easy question to answer. They have all had their strengths and their weaknesses. Best communicators were Reagan, Clinton, and Obama. They were able to give speeches that held everyone's attention, and that made their positions clear. But for shear competence, and courage in office......even though I didn't vote for him......I have to go with Bush Sr. as he was most prepared for the office and made the decision to go against his no new taxes pledge when he saw it was necessary for the good of the country. That took guts because he knew it could cost him reelection, but he did it because it was the right thing to do. It got the economy back on track and really teed things up for the Clinton years. Sacrificed his political career to do the right thing...I don't think the others ever did that. So he's my choice.
