The Army has picked Sig Sauer to build and deliver its Next Generation Squad Weapon variants, according to a release issued late Tuesday.
The weapon takes 6.8mm cartridges and will come in both rifle and automatic rifle variants.

Cool deal brother SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL , still like the old Colt version M-16's.

I like the bigger round. Increased lethality. And increases max effective range out to around 620 meters. While still giving a hard hit at that distance. Definitely like the bigger round, wondering how much weight the round will add to the combat load of the soldier. Great share SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
