I was in the Air Force for a couple weeks almost 20 years ago. I got a RE Code of 2C. In 2008, I joined the National Guard with an Active First contract. I got an honorable separation from the National Guard, went to Active Army as per the contract, received an Honorable Discharge and right into the Army Reserves and received an Honorable Discharge. Total time in the Army was 8 years. I want to go into the Navy Reserves but someone said there will be an issue with the original 2C Re code since this is not wavierable.

Anyone know an answer on how this would play out? (Recruiter didn't know so I'm asking here)

I'd be concerned about the age limit if you joined 20 years ago.

Since you been in and received a new DD214 the new one override the old ones cause I had a re3 and I got back in but not I’m just fully honorable. So you are good as Long as the new one a re1

I enlisted in the Army twice and received 2 DD214. When I came back in the 3rd time I had to submit both 214s and according to the recruiter I had, they should be using the RE code of the most recent 214. Good luck to you.
