It seems that the tension has been going up in this nation for some time with increases in violence and decreases in compassion. In the past I hated groups of people for what they did primarily. It is much easier to hate groups of people we know nothing about. The more we know about people the more we see similarities with ourselves.
Do you look down on any group of people?

Sir to honestly answer that question I would have to say YES. I have been looking down on a set group of individuals that are prevalent in this great country of ours. Who are they you ask? Anyone shorter than I am (I'm 6ft 2in). So at six foot, I'm now looking down at you, wondering how the weather is down there. When you get into the four foot range, I realize that now you're going to need assistance looking over the customer service counter, and I could help. At two feet or less, more than likely I'm changing your diapers, so I think we're even there. Otherwise, I don't care who or what you are. We all serve a purpose.

SSG Jesus Sijalbo - You hit the nail on the head. God made each of us in unique ways. But I'm so glad he didn't decide to make me anything more than 6ft5in. With that height, my selection of clothes becomes limited, and so does my choice in cars. I'm good right where I am lol

SGT Randal Groover - It's all good...for now. My backs messing up, and I think within the next 10 or so years, it's going to be payback time for all the dumb stuff I did while in.

While I used to hate many groups of people and some individuals, I no longer do. I attribute much of this change to the fact that I became a Christian in 1987./ Even when I tried to hate groups of people, God managed to change my heart frequently by having some of those people having contact with mew to know that we shared some things in common. I believe each person is created in the image of God and is worthy of my respect as a fellow human being.
As a practical matter, I still go through the daily struggle of realizing I hate some group and think about vengeance. When I recognize it I confess my thoughts to God, who knows my thoughts anyway, and ask for His help to transform my mind. Thanks Sgt Richard Buckner for reminding me.

That's commendable Sir. While there are people I cannot stand, a whole group no. There's bad apples in every bushel, but most of the bushel is good.

Buckner, the Bible at no point says "except those guys..." It actually says the exact opposite -

Love your enemies and pray for those that persecute you (Matthew 5:44)
Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. (Luke 6:28)
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. (Romans 12:14)
Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. (Thessalonians 5:15)
If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. (Proverbs 25:21)

And that's just a start...

LTC Stephen Ford, sir that is a tough question. I was taught from God and the Bible to love everyone, but on the other hand seeing what the world and people are turning into, it's hard not to look down on some.......so I said other...

LTC Stephen F. - Sir, I'm not as Christian as I should be, I don't think none of us are are one point or another. But I do believe in our Lord God our Savior. And I'll stand by that till my last breath
