We have seen is coming for the last 10 years. China is now building its 4th aircraft Carrier. In my opinion, they want to confront or spoil a counter-attack by the United States by placing 4 aircraft carriers as a screen to keep us out while Taiwan uses its 800 javelin missiles and its older M-60 A3 tanks and other weaponry to stall the people's Republic of China's forces on the beach and in the interior while we mobilize and hopefully come to their aid. If we do not, we will let Taiwan go down in history to defeat. At the end of WW2, Mainland China was Nationalist and its military was strong from US advisors training whole Chinese Nationalist Divisions in preparation to defeat the Japanese. After the war ended, The Nationalist Armies were slowly defeated by the Communists and Former General/Secretary George Marshall hated Chang Kai Shek and he did not support the Nationalists with additional arms and ammunition while Russia was giving captured Japanese weapons and ammunition to Mao Tse Tung's Army causing the Nationalists to retreat to Taiwan by 1949.

In my book, climate change is not the biggest fear but the invasion of Taiwan which will result in climate change of 20 years of global cooling if we have a limited nuclear war. National Geographic published a story 11 years ago on this exact subject discussing how the climate would be cooled by a limited nuclear war between India and China. I have been commenting for 2 years here to forget about climate change, it will come to bite us in the behind if we get into a limited nuclear war. Taiwan also bought new F-16s and as many torpedoes they could get their hands on from Foreign Military Sales.

We had a Defense Treaty with Taiwan that expired in 1980. The PRC just took back Hong Kong, I think they will be emboldened by our internal strife from the moment George Floyd died and the cities surrendered to the leftist protests/riots and now the strife from the insurrection of the fringe right group on the Capitol. The impeachment of Former POTUS Trump may be on your minds but remember that China likes our infighting. I hope President Biden sends a show of force like past Presidents have done. Remember, North Vietnam invaded South Vietnam during the tenure of the weak Ford Administration recovering from the Watergate scandal and POTUS Nixon's resignation. My Social Worker Mother spent 3 weeks at Camp Pendleton helping resettle refugees after the fall of Saigon. We do not want a President Obama Faux line in the Sand. We will also find out if Tony Bobulinksi was right. 108 Abrams M1A2 tanks are on order but it will be about 17-25 tanks a year to Taiwan. Hopefully, POTUS does not interfere with the FMS.

NO, I do not! His past performance has always been one of submission to foreign powers! His current collusion with his son, Hunter, in the private sector with China prevents him from any National military response. They still own him with financial obligations. He is compromised.

Based on what I've seen so far, I'm not sure that the Biden administration would come to the defense of Alaska if it is invaded by the People's Republic of China. They certainly don't seem to care about defending our citizens that live along the southern border from the invasion that they are dealing with.

China should, of course, be unified; this includes Taiwan. However, this unifications should be under the Constitution and laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan)! If the "One China Policy" of (Mainland) China were that important, then (mainland) China would agree in a heartbeat.

So you want to toss in the Philippines and a few other sovereign nations in the area?
I would rather President Trump had put some US Naval Ports in Taiwan.

TSgt (Join to see) - A US base in Taiwan? Yes! Not sure how it would go over, but I like your thinking!

Most military solutions will destroy the population of Taiwan.
We no longer recognize the Kuo Min Tang as the legal government of China
We do not recognize Taiwan as independent.
The riches that made Taiwan powerful have moved back to the mainland
Mao is dead, Chiang Kai Shek is dead, Cho Enlai is dead. Communist China isn’r All that Communist anymore and the Taiwanese are separate.
I am not sure but I don’t see how destroying Taiwan will prove anything

SSG Edward Tilton - Taiwan for Your information in a full fledged democracy And the United Nations only recognized The Republic of China (Taiwan) as the legitimate Government of all China. The Communist, who had seized power in the mainland wasn't recognized at all until President Jimmy Carter sold Taiwan out in favor of Communist China. The UN then followed that same action. The Nationalist Chinese were the legitimate government of all china, NOT the People Republic of China on the Mainland. The Republic of China, (Taiwan) was indeed an independent Country and still is despite Jimmy Carter selling them out. I do know what their standing was and participated in an Exchange program with the CAF, Chinese Air Force in Taiwan. We had an Embassy in Taiwan and none in mainland China who was NOT recognized as the legitimate government of China. I not only visited the Embassy but also was shown around areas of the capitol and surround area by members of the US Embassy staff. Thanks to Carter that was reduced to a trade mission and an Embassy which had not existed established on the Chinese Communist mainland. The Air Attache, who I met at the Embassy in Taiwan, a Colonel in the US Air Force, (a US citizen although born in China) was so upset by what Carter did to His country He killed Himself. Much of the coast of Taiwan was fortified to defend themselves from the Communist Chinese on the Mainland, I saw those fortifications. Many of the Chinese Military officers I dealt with in hte Republic of China, (Taiwan) were born on the mainland and fled to Taiwan to escape Communism and were quite aware of what happened and why.

Nice history lesson. Wouldn't it be nice if we had established US Naval ports within Taiwan?

TSgt (Join to see) - We actually did have an large Air Base in Taiwan called Ching Chuan Kang Air Base, or CCK for short until Jimmy Carter screwed that up by giving into the Communist mainland and pulling our Military out of Taiwan. In this picture taken at CCK is me in the two tone uniform with US Cadets to and Chinese Air Force officers at CCK.

We signed off on Taiwan being a province of China. Returning it to China after 50 years of Japanese rule. The Republic of China, Kuo Min Tang, is gone and the Communists rule China. How would we feel if an American State had Chinese troops. Like Hong Kong it exists within China.

I tend to believe we won't help Taiwan, because as many others have said, Biden and his crime family are owned by China.

But, I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that China will beat Taiwan either. Taiwan is an island nation and it would require massive amphibious assaults and airborne drops to even get into the fight with Taiwan. China's capabilities in both areas is sorely lacking and limited. They have zero experience with either and both are probably the most dangerous and risky ops a military can take on. Taiwan has been preparing their defences for years and it will be extremely costly to China to force a landing and they may not even succeed. The US, even with it's experience in airborne and amphibious ops, is not keen on ever attempting them again. And while thousands of Chinese you soldiers and phony missiles make for a very pretty military parade, they have very little training and next to no combat experience. No, this would not be a walk in the park for China.

No, because the Chinese have highly advanced anti-ship missiles that could sink our carriers. And if we went nuclear, they could too. Plus they see Biden as a doddering old libtard fool. (As for the Hunter Biden laptop, etc. , I actually think those juicy blackmail items make Biden more likely to go to war to prove he is not in their pocket.)

Thank you for your commentary. It's possible that China and Russia could be using their Hypersonic missiles as well. That's why I'm saying that we could get in a nuclear war and that would make the extreme left go into the insane asylum because we would no longer need the green new deal because the Earth would be cool for the next decade or more in the money we could save staying in our own ways could be used to rebuild our society after the limited nuclear Exchange. I just think our president is an idiot. He is the new prime minister Chamberlain that I was a fool and believed Hitler just like President Biden is a fool and his naive and piss poor mentality will believe the Taliban.

After the events in Afghanistan, I don't see Mr. Biden's administration ready to come to the aid of any nation.

Just finished "The China Mirage" by James Bradley. It exposes the game Chaing ran and how we went right along with it. His army was a paper tiger, and the money we pumped into China lined his family's pockets. Mao's victory, good, bad, or otherwise, was pre-ordained before WWII. As far as Taiwan's concerned, with all the American business, (and fortunes), tied up in the PRC, who's side do you think we'll come down on, treaty or not?
