Is it possible to get the job you want or wait until theres an opening in the military or do you just get whatever is available?

For navy: can you get any schools in your contract like the army allows?

Do most recruiters not try to help because they want to fill the jobs the military needs instead of what the person walking in wants?

What Is your true priority?

Recruiters aren't supposed to "sell" jobs, they are supposed to "sell" the Army. The counselor at MEPS is the person that offers the "job". If you are qualified for a job and it is available you can ask the counselor the specifics.

The Army is going to try and fill critical MOSs first. If the job the applicant wants isn't available they could try and wait to see if it comes open but I don't know a recruiter that would want to bring an applicant to MEPS every day to see if a job is open, unless they are rolling a donut lol.

As a recruiter myself, I am at YOUR interest. Although I cannot make you qualified for a specific job. If it’s not available, sorry.... it’s not available. I will however make calls to verify availability.

You can’t bring an applicant every day after the first time all hell breaks lose. With that said I️ always tell my applicants to find three jobs in different fields. In my station we are required to reserve them the job before they get to MEPS.
