Simple : Share your favorite military-related snapshot that you took with a camera. Describe it.
The above was a photo I took with my iPhone 4S right after Airborne Graduation at Ft Benning in May 2014. The little girl had been there with her Mom to see Dad earn his wings. She ran ahead of Mom to this classic bird and stopped suddenly in front and held a salute until her Mom came to grab her. I happened to see it and snap it. So sweet that little girl was. And SHE 'GOT IT!'

I have yet to dig thru my "stuff" from Vietnam. I don't think I have a group photo. I really envy you. Thank you for your service and sacrifices Robert. I hope your V-day was good. Hopefully will do a dig soon...

SGT John Melvin - My veterans Day was great, just like ever other day of my life. I did nothing special besides continuing to hunker down due to COVID-19. Hopefully you had, and are having, a great day too. I'd love to see some of your pictures. I'm sure they all have some great stories behind them.

I took this of Soldiers of the Georgia National Guard, conducting reflexive fire training in Indiana. It's a couple years old, but it's one of my favorites. The snow made for a nice natural backdrop.

Oh, btw, this picture also made a clip on CNN, on one of their 'Salute to the Troops' segments. It was only a flash, but a photographer knows his/her images when they see them. :-)

American Military Cemetery, Normandy, France. This was at the foot of a grave to an unknown soldier, and it just touched me.

My daughter Katelyn, with the black top and flowered print skirt, placing a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on June 6, 2018 -- the 74th anniversary...
SFC Chuck Martinez - This is my favorite military related video. The girl in the black top is my youngest daughter -- doing her daddy proud.

CH (MAJ) William Beaver, here's my photo of the "Green Beret" taken at Fort Bragg, NC (of course). It's now known as The Special Warfare Memorial Statue or "Bronze Bruce". The old JFK Special Warfare Museum (the Colonel Arthur D. Simons Memorial Museum Building) is in the background.
This photo is special to me because when I took this photo in AUG70, the statue had been there less than a year. During SF Phase 1 at Camp Mackall, we had to come attention and sing Barry Sadler's "Ballad of the Green Berets" every morning prior to the beginning of training when in a classroom setting!

5-man Bradley Crew from Bonecrusher Troop, 3-1 Cav, 3ABCT, 3ID sprints to the finish line of the 2013 Gainey Cup competition at Ft. Benning. The guys surrounding them who went the entire final ruck march are the Troop CO, the 1SG, XO, the Squadron Chaplain and others. The SCO ran alongside in Stetson to the finush line. I had chills.

The only pictures my wife took of me coming in to refuel, Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen were taken at the dinner table. Yours is a hell of a lot more cool.

Me in 1968 at Da Nang Air Base Vietnam on a Base perimeter bunker used by My unit, the 366th Security Police Squadron overlooking rice paddies. This bunker had be placed by the French before We took it over and used it. Notice the M60 and ammo loaded and ready for use. There was also a 50 caliber mounted on the roof but surrounded by walls up there. There was another small sandbag bunker with a Vietnamese guard and a WWII vintage 30 caliber machine gun within it. In addition a good portion of the perimeter also had our own Claymore mines placed there.

See what happens when you start to miss morning briefings, SFC Chuck Martinez? 55 years slip away. Great picture, SMSgt Lawrence McCarter. I've never been to Da Nang, but it's on my bucket list. It might not look the same by the time I ever get there.
