Ask one. Make sure they're in your branch. Give them a draft packet to review so they can give you feedback. If you don't know them personally, give them three references they can contact for further information about you. Biggest thing: don't waste their time. I've had three folks ask me for recommendation letters this year alone, but not a single one of them provided me with anything further to support it. If you want to be a Warrant Officer, you're going to have to learn to do your homework. Good luck!

I would recommend you contact a couple CWOs from the Aviation BCT where you are stationed. Just email them and tell them you are interested in applying for the WO program and are seeking a letter of recommendation. I would attach a short resume of what you have done in your MOS, schools attended, and civilian education. Tell them you are available to sit and talk with them if they desire. Most senior Chiefs already have a template that they use for LORs. Good luck!

Hang out at the Class VI or the Green Beans. They congregate there.

I enjoyed the reference...a bit of a stereotype but hey, I do like coffee :-) I was Ordnance (Missile Maintenance) before I re-branched to Signal: small Army.
