Even if you Served ROTC, I think they should make it a ''LAW'' for ''PRESIDENCY of the ''UNITED STATES''', to have Served in the MILITARY'', I Have first hand from the VA, 47 Years ago, most employees were veterans, the Gov't allowed Civilians and Foreigners Civilians to run it, and they messed the VA UP''. You Respect the ''OFFICE MORE IF YOU SERVED''.

My greatest pride comes from the service I gave my country in serving as a Corpsman and, at the end of my service, caring for MY Marines!

& I can not thank you and all those like you that gave us the freedom to fallow in your tracks, with boots that will never be an easy act to follow. The pride & honor you have installed came at a price I will never forget. "NCO's lead from the front".

It is an honor to have served over 33 years with great brothers and sisters who love this country and their communities. The Veterans of our past have been and remain today, an inspiration to all who serve today and those who will serve. The sacrifices of our Veterans and their families should never be forgotten. I'm proud to be in the "Band of Brothers".

LTC Monte Anderson, what an outstanding tribute, sir!

I invite a few pals of mine, COL Mikel J. Burroughs and LTC Stephen F., to chime in on this and to invite a few others!

To all Veterans: thank you for your service. To those we lost: we will never forget your sacrifice. SALUTE!

Thanks LTC Monte Anderson for honoring military service veterans so eloquently.
Thanks for drawing my attention to this discussion SSG Leonard J W.
I concur with SGT Philip Roncari's response.
In my just over sixty years I too have had many titles and roles: son, brother, life-long-friend, trainee, Private First Class, USMA cadet, 2nd and 1st Lieutenant, Captain, Company Commander, husband, father, uncle, Christian, Major, prayer warrior, Lieutenant Colonel, Senior Consultant, unemployed, disabled veteran, military retiree, and simply veteran. Throughout the decades I have grown in many respects yet remained the same person. By God's grace I am a Christian, by my choice I was a soldier and am now a veteran.
