APOD: 2022 June 26 - Light Echoes from V838 Mon

Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the June 26th edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Light Echoes from V838 Mon." We've all heard sounds echo (i.e. thunder, frieght train whistle, voice, etc). This is due to the wave properties of sound. Light also behaves like a wave...so it too can 'echo.' But given the speed of light (~300,000,000 km/sec), the surfaces to create a light echo need to be far away.
