I have mixed emotions on this. When I spent a couple years as a homeless vet I was foot loose and fancy free. One of my sons pitied me, while another one envied me. I was homeless by choice and was in position financially to do as I pleased. I traveled the world. I put my stuff in storage, paid the rent a year in advance and had one of my daughters handle my mail. Unfortunately most homeless vets are not so fortunate and are victims of circumstances.

That's not really homeless. They are referring to those who are living on the street or cycling between shelters/couch serving and other temporary solutions

I was in fact living in the woods mostly, eating off mother nature. Rarely was I living on the streets, and never stayed in any type of formal shelter or even a hostel. That's what I call luxury homelessness. That would take all the fun out of it. I did do couch surfing though, to include at the home of one person who is on my contact list on this forum. Sometimes I miss those days.
