Was attached to JSOTF (Joint Special Operations Task Force) there in 2012,at the task force camp, it was camp Vance the Special Operations camp. BAF was a big camp I was in and out of there a lot flew in and out, good thing working with SOF, had no problem flying around the country as we had are own air support. Camp Vance had some of the best food in country. God Bless his Family, and I hate things like this, especially when you were there at sometime, it makes you think what if.

It appears that the attack occurred while personnel were conducting the Veterans Day fun run. The question is how did the bomber get the device onto Bagram? All local nations go through the metal detector prior to entering the base; and the attack was carried out in the bazaar. Did the security fail/breakdown or did someone working in the bazaar smuggle the parts for the device onto the base over time. It may be time for the base commander to direct that the bazaar be removed. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the fallen and with the personnel wounded!

Great questions that need to be answered. Many lessons need to be learned from this tragedy. My prayers are also with all the families and friends.
