Thanks Maj Marty Hogan for letting us know that July 8 is the anniversary of the birth of American businessman and politician Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller who served as the 41st Vice President of the United States from 1974 to 1977, and previously as the 49th Governor of New York (1959–1973).
He was a liberal Republican in the days when liberal was more reasonable and less vehemently confrontational - usually :-)
Rest in peace Nelson Rockefeller!
He ran against Richard Nixon for Republican nominee to become president of the USA in 1968

Maj Marty Hogan I was born and raised in NY and grew up with Rockefeller as Gov. I thought he was a great Governor.

Maj Marty Hogan When he was VP, I came across a report of the family's finances. Hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars shared between many family members. LTC Stephen F.
