Good morning, COL Mikel J. Burroughs. Your thoughts today appear informed by the "Golden Rule" (Matt 7: 12, KJV), which I see as the essential affirmation of human dignity. And as G.K. Chesterton correctly points out, "When people begin to ignore human dignity, it will not be long before they begin to ignore human rights." Cheers.

Very well put Maj. Price. If one can see and sense these thoughts, as you have done, and I have witnessed by your words, then wisdom is with that human being, and will remain with him/her until the end of time. My congratulations to you Sir!

What defines me is an aversion to being labeled, put in a box, categorized. In short, defined ;)
That said...my identity is as a child of God, however unworthy and only by His grace and love, and my life is an offer back to Him -- the good, bad, and ugly, just as I am.
Thank you, sir, for a defining quote today! And here's to a day of living authentically COL Mikel J. Burroughs.

Sgt your heart is in the right place. Of all of the really effective preachers I have ever heard and I have heard a lot the best are the ones who have been in the muck and were rescued by Jesus. I have been down in the muck and like you Jesus pulled me out. I served in a small country church for 16 years but God had bigger plans for me. I now serve in the SC State Guard as a Chaplain instead of having a dozen people to care for I now have 1000 of the best folks I know to care for. God will put you where he wants you went he wants you. Hang in there and if there is anything I can do for you or anyone who might read this just contact me. Have a great weekend and an even better week.

Michael Horne what a blessing to see/hear how God is working through you to touch lives in the SC Guard.
My grandfather was a country pastor. Studied under AT Robertson at Baptist seminary, Louisville (after his MDiv at Luther sem in St Paul), then pastored country churches in ND and MN, way up north.
Thank you for your service, sir. God bless you.

Even the late Bruce Lee in his book, the Tao of Jeet Kune Do,when urged to put a name to his art....noted that the moment we start putting labels on things is the same moment we begin to put limits on what it can/can't be.
Im also Christian but dont identify with any particular sect or label...other than believer in God, Jesus,Holy Spirit and the 4th Covenant.
Ive noticed that those who INSIST on labels frequently 'seem' to be more interested in power than what it is they are labeling...seems i see examples of that in the news daily with those who try to change definitions or Spin to benefit thier particular narrative.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr,
I definitely agree. I always believed I can learn so much by ones actions. Words well .. "dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see..." has definitely been in my evaluation techniques.
