When the United States invaded England

That was quite a wake up call the British that an American Warship could attack them right in their own ports well away from the United States. When stories are retold they grow into much larger events which it seems they did. It certainly got their attention and they had to worry about their own defense.

Despite immergence of our navy, we had success against England with Old Ironsides, battle in the great lakes, and John Paul.
