Another singer they covered extensively was of course, Johnny Cash. He actually recorded an album at Folsom Prison for what he called the best audience he ever had. He had a lot of struggles but because he had the love of his family he managed to stay out of prison himself.
He had a very significant drug habit and June Carter refused to marry him until he was sober.
