COL Mikel J. Burroughs here is a share to go along with the read.
It is what it is, I am who I am!

Tip #1: Just three words: 1-Delete, 2-and, 3-Block.

It really is that simple.

You see, there is a difference between constructive criticism and just downright rudeness. It’s okay for someone to say that they don’t like something about your presentation; for example, that you talk too fast or move your hands in a distracting way. They may feel a little hurtful, sure, but you can learn from them.

HOWEVER…if someone says things that aren’t helpful, are distasteful or are downright abusive, you don’t need to have them be a part of your world. There is no requirement that you allow them to rant, vent or be snide—in fact, you have the right to delete their comments and then block them from contacting you. Hit the button, tap the screen…just wave goodbye to them and move on.

I have 5 more tips (and maybe one little surprise!) that I’ve put together to help you deal with the haters, critics and not-so-nice folks out there. They’re all tried and true techniques that I’ve used myself, and I trust that they’ll help you too.
Tip #2: Respond With Love

It's okay to respond back nicely. Let's be honest, we don't know what hardships they might be dealing with. Being positive back can make a huge difference in how they feel about you (and about life in general.)
Tip #3: Hire an Online Bodyguard

We've talked about times that it makes sense to hire people to help you with different tasks, right? Well, dealing with haters is kinda one of them. Bring on someone you trust to monitor your social media and decide when to respond, when to allow your die-hard fans to handle it and when to remove a post altogether. When you do it yourself, you can get hurt feelings, become angry or start thinking thoughts about you that are not true. You don't need all that negative energy. Online bodyguard. You need one.
Tip #4: Hide or Ignore Comments

Your page = your rules. If someone makes a comment that is untrue or just meant to be disrespectful, you get to either ignore or hide the comment. Oh, and another thing? I suggest going to the settings for your Facebook business page using the page moderation feature and profanity filter to block certain words from ever being able to make it on your page.
Tip #5: Respond in a Sincere Way

Have you ever had someone say something that's kind of mean or a little passive-aggressive…and you realize that they're kind of right? Oh! I hate that! Dang it! But when it's happened to me and I've answered them back acknowledging what they said and thanking them for pointing out something I can improve on, the results can be crazy good. Or maybe I just don't hear back from them. Either way, it's awesome.
Tip #6: Remember They're Behind a Screen

Our screens (and how we use them) honestly distort reality. For some people, that means only showing all of those “perfect” Martha Stewart-inspired moments. For others, it means saying the rudest, meanest things when they're behind a screen even though they'd never, ever, in a bajillion years, say them to you in person. Try your best not to take it personally or waste a second longer on it.
Tip #7: Don't Take Their Load

Hate is a heavy load, and it's not your job or responsibility to carry it for any other person. If someone comes at you with hate, turn away. Walk away. Their hate is their deal. Your focus gets to be on the goodness of creating a joyful life, a successful business and something that you can be proud of. Haters don't get to weigh you down.

I expect that you generally treat people as though you would like to be treated in person and online. Dark humor is generally okay in adult conversation. I expect the Holy Spirit prompts you to be reticent when in the company of spiritually immature or people offended by certain subjects. I expect you are spiritually mature enough to admit mistakes and deliberate insults, confess the mistake/insult and seek to repent. ‘All things are lawful,’ but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up. Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor."’ [1 Corinthians 10: 23-24 ESV] Joe.
I pray you that I are conscious of the prompting of the Holy Spirit at all times. I pray that we each listen/read through and think before responding to slights, insults, and false statements in person and online. LORD I pray that each of us are attuned to humorous intent and offer grace when it is within our power to do so. 'In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.' Matthew 7:12ESV], my brother-in-Christ SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.

I pray that each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters are doing our best to treat others as we would like to be treated. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear how we are behaving in order for us to spiritually mature and become more gracious, kind, and compassionate. LORD I pray that YOU make it clear to each one of when we are speaking in the presence of spiritually immature and /or think skinned individuals who are easily offended. ‘So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.' [1 Corinthians 10: 31-33 ESV].
I lift the online supporters of Marxist BLM, anarchist Antifa and their allies who are thin skinned, vengeful, and/or short tempered who rant and rave on social media to YOU. Open the eyes of any who may repent from abusing others and prompt them to become more respectful in in-person and online conversations. For those who are blind as the Pharisees and refuse to repent, let their spiritual cataracts blind them in YOUR perfect timing.
I pray that YOUR sacrificial love is shining through each of us and drawing others to YOU across this nation, as well as UK, France, Germany, Israel, Jordan, Syria, Greece, Turkey, Canada, Mexico, India, and Australia. YOUR sacrificial love motivates us to share what we are able to sacrificially and to give of ourselves in helping other by time, talents and treasure. 'My command is this Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this to lay down one's life for one's friends.' [John 15:12-13 ESV]
I pray that majority of the elected leaders, legislators, appointed officials, and judges throughout the USA, [as well as Australia, Canada, Mexico, India, Europe, Africa, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Central and South America] are becoming more respectful in-person, in interviews, in phone conversations, and online. I pray that as summer draws to a close the partisanship heat will be tempered down, and light of communication will increasingly replace heat of confrontation.
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and your loved ones sleep well Monday night and will awake healthy on Tuesday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good morning Col Burroughs. This one is particularly well timed. I did counseling with a mom whose child was undergoing surgery and some idiots on social media were commenting on her parenting ability. She's balancing a job and two small children the best she can. My advice was to stay off social media and only talk to her friends and family in person or via phone. It seems the meanness of people is what is in the forefront sometimes on social media. We should take the old axiom to heart: If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. And remember it will be up there, long after you forgot about it.

SCPO Morris Ramsey - Great Memes and Quotes for today and your write-up is so "spot on" Charlie.

"May we always be respectful of each other in this era of social media, especially among our brothers and sisters who’ve served this country; no matter what your personal feelings may be or your personal preferences; may you always keep a positive attitude, which leads to positive communications; may you take the best possible care of yourself; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Be the leader with integrity and character at all times through all social media posts and responses." — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

COL Mikel Burroughs good read/share: for the Colonel's Motivational Quotes of the Day. Where the mighty American Bald Eagles roam in the mighty MOUNTAINS OF CASTLE ROCK, COLORADO AMONG THIER EAGLES-NEST. I know the view must be MAGNIFICENT on this day August 10, 2020 as you might glance upon the mighty snow capped mountains headed into the month of September . As you know I would respond a lot throughout the week, but I am full-time DOD employee doing contracts for the Defense Contracting Management Agency. It is good to have some time on my break to respond my friend.

Today's theme is “Stop Bashing People on Social Media Day?” IT'S ALWAYS EASY TO HIDE AMONG SOCIAL MEDIA THAN BE EXPOSED IN TRUTH AND REALITY FACE TO FACE.
I QUOTE, “Don’t be fooled people aren’t who they ‘post’ to be.” — Unknown Author
