Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. I saw the awesome article about the ride and posted it to FB. I hope you continue to have much success over the next twenty days or so.

We all have the ability to go farther than we think we can initially. I am sure most of you felt that way when you initially got to basic and/or advanced training and thought about the challenges ahead that some might be more than you could handle, but somehow you found the strength and resilience to meet the challenges and succeed. I use that as a motivator even now when I am faced with an obstacle or situation that seems beyond me. I think back to when I was just starting out in the military and how difficult it seemed but somehow I found a way to make it. Then it becomes, I was successful in that, I can do this as well. I often have clients look back to see just how far they've come especially when they are faced with new challenges; it gives one a much better sense of perspective.

I expect that you have learned a great deal through the ups and downs of life that you have experienced. Most likely you, like I, have learned much from mistakes of our own, mistakes of others which affected us, and vicariously from others personally and second hand. Hopefully your spiritual maturity is at least in line with your physical maturity. I pray that each one of us submits our will, goals and plans to the LORD regularly and that we respond quickly to HIS prompts. ‘All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray LORD that YOU open the eyes and ears of each adopted son and daughter of God who reads or listens to this prayer. Far too many seem to be confused about eschatology and the end times which were initiated when the LORD Jesus ascended to the Father and the Holy Spirit began to dwell with the soul of each and every adopted child of God. ‘but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.’ [1 Peter 1:19-21 ESV]
Fools rush headlong into danger seemingly oblivious to the risks, while the prudent avoids unnecessary risks. ‘'The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.’ [Proverbs 22:3 ESV]. The wise take time and put sufficient effort to evaluate, assess and count the cost before embarking on an enterprise or taking a long journey. Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ [Luke 14:27-30 ESV]
The LORD God is continually aware of the state of our heart/soul. HE knows exactly each aspect of our life and how and when it will end. HE allows us latitude and fulfills each desire of our heart/soul after removing the dross. 'Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring.' [James 4:13-14 ESV]
Remember the admonition of the LORD ‘And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.’ [Ephesians 2:17-22 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Monday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Tuesday morning.

Good “Monday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from the now very blue skies of the Greater Boston area where it is currently a beautiful 85° headed up to about 93° today... Fear not though, by Friday we will be in the very comfortable 70s... & hopefully sunny for your arrival in the Boston Area.

Today’s Message is: “How Far Can You Go Day!” Why Not?

MY PERSONAL QUOTE:
"How far one can go is somewhat of a rhetorical question... Why is that? It is because those who needs to answer will have numerous answers, as it is different for each individual... It is for each person to determine how far is far enough. Go for it!" - Kerry F. Harkins, June 7, 2021

"Tact in audacity is knowing how far you can go without going too far." - Jean Cocteau

"No matter how far life pushes you down, no matter how much you hurt, you can always bounce back." - Sheryl Swoopes

"The problem in defense is how far you can go without destroying from within what you are trying to defend from without." - Dwight D. Eisenhower

"Knowing how to think empowers you far beyond those who know only what to think." - Neil deGrasse Tyson

"Our fate is determined by how far we are prepared to push ourselves to stay alive - the decisions we make to survive. We must do whatever it takes to endure and make it through alive." - Bear Grylls

The question is always there...

“How far can you go? I’m going 10,000 miles over 21 days and riding through 32 states to abolish healthcare debt for veterans and their families. How far can you go?" — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
