Canada’s first line of defense against foreign invasion is the military of the United States.

LTC Stephen C. - Yes, I appreciate even criticism. Canadians only have a military of about 23k regular army, 3k DND Civilians, 19K reservists and 5300 Inuit Rangers for a total of 42K. That is small compared to us. they are 1/10 our population. which would be equal to 230K active duty, 190K reservists and 53K Arctic Militia. Not very big at all. LTC Stephen C. SSG Samuel Kermon - Here is an article from Canada a few years ago. They probably have their radios now but this lazy attitude from Canada affects their reserve component. Remember, I live in Canada and I recall these articles. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/christie-blatchford-canadas-ragged-reserves-have-too-few-vehicles-little-ammo-and-now-no-radios LTC Stephen C. LTC (Join to see) - Do you realize that the Rangers replaced a .30 caliber, 10-round magazine, bolt action rifle, with a .30 caliber, 10-round magazine, bolt action rifle? The only real difference is that the old one was a .303, and the new one used the standardized 7.62 NATO (.308) round. That's the major difference.

Once again I must mention that NATO members provide much that bean counters choose to ignore. Think free access, overfly rights and facilities, etc., etc.

SSG Samuel Kermon Can't have equitable cost sharing if you only consider monetary contributions.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen agreed, sir. Just one indice of several. Money is just the simplest way to compare equity.

Let's get down to basics
Would you rather a war be fought on American soil or on another nations soil and just how much is it worth to you for that to happen.

LTC (Join to see) - The fact of the matter is the US did nothing until March and Trump lied about it profusely. Those are the problems. It is an easy AAR. What was planned. What really happened. Shrink the delta. It is an easy AAR because nothing was planned. Worse yet Trump lying about the threat of the pandemic was a disincentive for the Federal Government to do anything such as planning.

You may be richer but 1 in 10 Americans contracted COVID. 600,000 are dead. There are probably 7 million Americans who have long term health issues due to the pandemic. I still don't see how an educated man support such a prolific liar like Trump.

If we had used the National Response Framework like we should have, there is a Pandemic Annex. In the Annex it states that a strategic message should be sent out to the US that there will be many unknowns and variables associated with the pandemic. HHS is supposed to take the medical lead. However, Trump and the Republicans attacked the scientists in public and pontificated on the medical aspects of the pandemic:
- It's like the flu.
- It will disappear.
- It will never make it to our shores.
- Blame China.

The US did absolutely nothing to prepare for this deadly pandemic. That is on Trump and the GOP.

I means the some people suffer form the delusion that it went somehow went away, it is usually linked to the delusion that some people have that America is not great and needs to be returned to Jim Crow again to be great

LTC (Join to see) I wish that conservatives would get the House and Senate but right now that seems impossible. In reality we have anarchists in conserative clothing trying to take over the party of conservatives. Why else would there be primary challenges within the party for every member that did not support the former guy? This isn't the democracy we signed on to defend. Oh and school boards so aren't pushing CRT, heck most aren't even teaching it, but again those anarchists in conservative clothing are pushing that concept.

SSgt Joseph Baptist - You know nothing about National Disaster Planning. Of course Trump lied profusely about the pandemic. Hence he never protected the country from the pandemic.
