Mask mandates are coming back in the US, and tourists aren’t happy

Mask requirements are popping back up again across the United States following new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance that even vaccinated people should wear masks indoors in public in high-transmission communities.
Nevada quickly reinstalled a statewide mask mandate within hours of the CDC's Tuesday announcement, requiring that face coverings be worn indoors in public in counties with "substantial or high transmission" starting Friday. Twelve of Nevada's 17 counties fit that criteria, the state said.
That includes Clark County, home to Las Vegas, where the renewed mandate has raised questions about how it will impact its tourism industry, which had been on what was seen as an upward trajectory toward recovery from the pandemic.
"Let's mask up to keep one another safe," tweeted Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak (D).
Also Tuesday, the Democratic mayor of Kansas City, Mo., Quinton Lucas, said that in light of the CDC guidance, he would reinstate an indoor mask mandate in the city.
The move was sudden: Just two days earlier, on CBS's "Face the Nation," Lucas said that "at this point" mask mandates were unnecessary. In announcing the new mandate, Lucas said he would "provide further details in the morning."

Thank you my friend Lt Col Charlie Brown for posting the unsurprising news that mask mandate are upsetting would-be tourists. They also upset many residents .
No surprise that Nevada and in Democrat Mayor city Kansas City, Mo mask mandates are back.
I am glad that locally that is not the case. I hope the Virginia Governor does not decide to make a statewide mask mandate for vaccinated people.
The irony of this is that it seems to be coupled with the push to get everybody vaccinated. Cognitive dissonance is festering, sadly.

This masking stupidity must end. The CDC has proven itself incapable of making decisions that work. As for the mayor of Kansas City, he is a stooge being told what to say by his puppetmadters. Ditto the nut who governs in Nevada. And I expect the knucklehead here in North Carolina will be issuing new stringent mask requirements any moment.

SSG Samuel Kermon you do understand how virus' mutate right? If u don't stop spreading it, it will change and change and change. So the longer 35% of this country think they are being enslaved because of a piece of cloth over their mouth the longer we will be in the toilet.
When you have surgery do you tell the surgeon "be free don't wear a mask?" Is it your constitutional right to infect others? Did you tell the military your not getting vaccinated before going overseas? If you go to a store should everyone with a mask leave until your done shopping? I've been vaccinated and I wear a mask. I had several spinal surgeries last year and suffered a heart attack after. So should I stay locked up in my house because you don't want to wear a mask?
Your logic is selfish.

SSG Samuel Kermon well sorry SSG but if you threaten the health of others around you then yes I can, will and should question your patriotism. My 2 cents is quit listening to politicians and fox news,, listen to heart and lung drs. Did you get a poll vaccine? Did you tell your dentist he didn't have to wear a mask? If you have surgery are you going to tell your surgeon he shouldn't wear a mask?

SSG Samuel Kermon oh ok. So when I have my 8th spinal surgery next month I'll tell my surgeon he's a moron for wearing a mask because it doesn't work. And you can keep playing Russian roulette with everyone's health around you. I'll tell them Dr Kermon gave me my info. I feel so much better now that I know vaccines and masks are worthless. Hey maybe you should tell that to the families of the 650k people who died. Or did they really die?
