We have military families on food stamps....or using food banks.
We have military kids living in homes with severely injured service members
Military kids living in single parent households or with a guardian because their parent is deployed.
Military kids who say goodbye to a deploying parent and the next time they "see" them is at the funeral.
Very privileged.
I've lost my ability to be civil on this one.

When I was a 2LT with four kids back in 1979 at Ft. Knox I learned that if my earnings had been just $50 lower, I would've qualified for food stamps. . . .

Privileged...BS...Military kids are more resilient than other kids because of the hardships they have to face as a military family but privileged...NOT! In todays environment God forbid you be a white military kid...I guess that comes with double privilege.

I was sent over seas 3 times. My kids were very disturbed and missed me a lot. I used to put them to bed at night reading a Bible story to them and saying a little prayer over each one. They really missed me. I made a tape recording of me reading their favorite Bible story and and saying their prayer. The was the worse part of my year in Korea. When I deployed to Saudi Arabia for desert shield/desert storm my mother, who lived with the family died a week before I left. My daughter, about 6 years old was very close to my mother. I was not there to help her through her grief. Yeh,we were privileged.
