"Putin "cannot remain in power."

He said what we all are thinking.

LTC Stephen F. - I am not so sure. There have been a lot of Russian/USSR leaders that suddenly "fell ill" and disappeared for the public scene.

Can you name three or more elected leaders [i.e. President or Premier] of the USSR or Russia [post-tsars] who suddenly fell-ill and disappeared MSG Stan Hutchison? - Trotsky doesn't count since he was not a leader of the USSR and was simply a threat to Stalin.

LTC Stephen F. - I did not say "elected" leaders.
Can I prove my opinion? Not really, but some of the regime changes looked a little fishy to me.

Accidentally declare war?
It is a legislative power, not executive

LTC Stephen F. - Putin knows NATO is weak. And perhaps not willing to fight for their allies as it is. Putin does know the NATO countries will fight for self-preservation. (Maybe) The US has always publicly had a policy of No Assinations. Even though the world knows we have done it and tried to do it. Having Putin worrying that the US is coming for him can be considered an act of war. Or what if someone in his country was planning on taking him out and now Putin has tightened his security. Thats is why you cannot have anyone in our government making stupid statements. Biden has made a Bucket full that has caused a lot of trouble. This I think is the worst.

LTC Eugene Chu You are correct. A president cannot declare war but he can initiate war...there is a difference. According to the war powers resolution he can commit troops on the ground and take unilateral military action for 60 days before Congress has to give statutory approval. Now...words matter, no matter our Constitution to the world stage. If Russia takes this as a war declaration or escalation they could act on it...Buffon Biden's handlers need to choose his words wisely as this is a HIGH STAKES game of chess And Both Bush's, Reagan, Clinton and Obama have enacted this unilateral actionCHESS

LTC Stephen F. - Biden walks them back then reinstates them. It's obvious that he dosen't have a clue as to what's going on
