At the Malmo port in southern Sweden, a cargo ship looms over row after row of shiny new cars — Volkswagens, Volvos, Mercedes.
Notably missing are Teslas. That's because dockworkers are refusing to unload them.
Goran Larsson, a cargo ship inspector, said he's informing the crew on each arriving vessel of the labor action and assessing whether any Teslas are on board.
"We want there to be good regulation in Sweden — law and order all around the workplaces," Larsson said. "And this is the first step that we will do."
Tesla has long fended off efforts to unionize its workforce around the world. But in Sweden, the electric vehicle maker is facing its first formal labor action over its anti-union stance, with potential ripple effects for the company globally.

Unintended consequences of the bad green new deal Means that union worker gave me out of a job because The assembly line of the electric car is will doom Union workers.
Going green is stupid and it should be done by natural market forces, not by Bidenomics. Bidenomics is big government socialism through the regulatory state. This A bad socialism is picking winners and losers, and in this case, the union auto workers will be losers because a majority of them will be forced to go into retirement or quit because of layoffs.

When the automakers were first unionized, Ford successfully held them at bay by paying better wages than they were demanding. When his workers were finally wooed by the unions, Ford allowed them to unionize and reduced their wages to match union demands. I believe that Musk has been treating his workers fairly enough otherwise they would have voted to unionize. He can't simply forbid it.

CPT Jack Durish I horse lots of layoffs and General motors. And maybe even Ford having bankruptcy protection because they won't be able to compete with Tesla. the only reason that they went ahead. Was because the federal government dangled 7 billion dollars to go green. But now people like me who want to drive across country aren't going to buy an electric car. That costs $10k more than the average vehicle and is Junk with a dead battery after 8 years.

Interesting. Of course, just a couple of years ago Sweden was the pariah for the left because they didn't buy into the covid hysteria. Now they are loved because their unions are blocking imports. I'm sure Musk will find another way to get his vehicles in the country.
