I am an American retiree living in Canada. I can still vote in American elections because riverside. California still has me as an out of state voter. They send me the ballot by mail as well as by emails. Some of the apologists Radical RP left think I can't vote in the USA so I don't have a say. I can vote even in local school board elections in Riverside County as well as State elections. I will be voting in the primary very shortly. That being said....
I am half- hispanic and I don't care if you call me racist or biggot. In 1959, My mother came to the USA legally from Honduras. She applied at the US Embassy in Tegucigalpa.
She had a Master's degree in Social Work. She wasn't invited by President Eisenhower. He didn't give her a free bus ticket or train ticket to anywhere in the USA. She did not use public assistance.
Do you guys remember that song from the 1980s from Wall of Voodoo? I'm on the Mexican radio!

In the comments you'll see a a French-speaking, Canadian female heckling Trudeau about illegal aliens and Trudeau. Gets all upset says that she's racist and The plane clothes secret service escort her away.
Canada has quite a few asylum seekers who have come over the decades from Past evil regimes of
1. Nicaragua ( Civil war and communism)
2. El Salvador ( Two decades of civil war ended in the 1990s)
3. Chile- 1970s Dirty War
4. Argentina- 1970s Dirty war.
5. Ukraine- Recent Russian invasion have at least 15000 coming to Canada.
6. Russia and many other former Soviet Republics.
Those foreigners are hard workers here in Canada.
7. We have lots of Filipinos. They are always working fast food, I see them as nannys and janitors.
8. We also have a lot of somalis and African refugees. Some work at my job and many speak French.

I have been trying to get off the voter rolls for a state I moved out of 20 years ago. They send me mail in ballots I have not requested. I shred them.

That's why I'd be in favor of some type of national voter registration process. The way it is now every state has its own set of rules that can be as different as night and day. I was lucky, I was able to vote by mail in Connecticut my entire military career and when we got married my wife was able to register in Connecticut and also vote by mail because she was a military spouse. But that was because of CT state laws, many other states don't allow spouses to do that and they must register to vote in each state they're stationed in. Getting off the voting rolls was also easy. When I retired we each had to send a letter to the Supervisor of Elections saying I'd retired from the military, a couple months later we got letters acknowledging we'd been removed from the rolls.
