Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - I've been tasked with coordination of presidential, senatorial and foreign dignitary visits. They are more highly choreographed than a ballet, planned down almost to the footstep.
Do you really believe that his Secret Service detail doesn't know his itinerary? Down to the minute? Additionally, whoever is working with his personal entourage for the occasion knows exactly what the President's hard schedule is.
Imagine the bad optics if the president were to interrupt the occasion and let people know it was "time to wrap it up." There is already someone designated to orchestrate the movements if it becomes necessary. That somebody isn't the president.
Do you really think his personal secretary isn't aware of his schedule and if need be, will notify any and all concerned with unforeseen changes to the schedule?
Do you really believe he manages his own time? That's not a matter of mental decline or cognitive abilities. That is a matter of carefully managing the presidents most limited resource, time?
So, I stand by my opinion. I actually don't doubt his ability to empathize. I do doubt his mental discipline.
I don't hate the man. I hate his governance. I'm able to distinguish one from the other.
