I've actually never run more than about 7 miles before. Thinking about doing a half marathon this year. Be a while before I'm ready for a full marathon.

TSgt Joe C.
I hear you; longest I ran was 8.2 miles for an Airman we lost in my unit back in NM in 2015. I'm not sure where my next assignment will take me as the list isn't available until 4 Jan SSgt (Join to see)

If you can run 7~ you can run a 1/2. It might "hurt" but you can do it. Pick up a 10 week training program and you'll be fine. Shoot me a message or email and i'll walk you through it if you have any questions. I do 10~ halves a year. You're probably in good enough shape to begin a full training program now. Keep in mind that marathon season (next year) begins in September-November (depending on where you are) and it's a 18-22 week training cycle. You have LOTS of time to get ready.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS TSgt Joe C. I just signed up for the Madtown half Marathon. Had been thinking about it, now it's a plan.

Sweet! It will be my 3rd time doing the half there unless one of my friends can talk me into the full.
