Hard to set out clear direction on this but some things are obviously not acceptable... gathering in large numbers on the beach for instance

I deliver for a parcel company in Canada and I delivered 3 boxes of ammunition. Maybe it is a coincidence because rifles are common and pistols or not but I could tell by the way to the Box that this was 5.56 or 7.62 Or similar caliber ammunition. Normally, I don't deliver ammunition so even the trend in Canada is either quest and all because of hunting season or people are scared.
Schools have been closed for 2 weeks and they just closed down all hair salons and barbershops on Friday.
Supermarkets are open at 7:00 a.m. for seniors and 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for everybody else.

PO3 Bob McCord - My wife turned me into a Coffee Addict,, Before her, I was not a coffee drinker. Now,, I gotta have the thick dark stuff and gotta be strong. Like your wife, mine likes hers milder. But Ike & Tina Turner wrote a song about it. Humble Pie did a really good cover of it, and recently Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa redid it as well and its great! But that crazy little English cockney Steve Marriot just nailed it. *Skip the intro if you like
" Black coffee is my name
Black coffee is not a thing
Black coffee, freshly ground and fully packed
Hot black coffee, boys, mmm that's where it's at, mean it
Way back you all know since I don't know when
See I got hungover before I was 10
You see my skin is white but my soul is black
So hot black coffee, that's where it's at
That's what I'm talkin' about boys
(Black coffee) That's what I mean
(Black coffee) Ooh you've got to feel it in your hand
(Black coffee) Hmm yeah
(Black coffee)
Well you hear that
Some black tea, well it can't compare with me
Black tea (can't compare with me) that's right
Black tea, well it's as good as, it's as good as, it's as good as it can be
But it's a cup of black coffee that a working man needs to see, yeah
In America, well it's the land of the free
You can get what you want if you've got some do re me
Well travelling far and I work like a slave
Now I'm independent, and you know I get laid
I got me a job and I build me a place
I got a spit of black coffee, oh how good it tastes
I said a dime is all it costs in the States
For a cup of black coffee, how good it tastes
Alright
(Black coffee) Oh
(Black coffee) It's what I want now, it's what I need
(Black coffee) To suit my soul, to suit my soul now
(Black coffee) It's what I want, it's what I need
(Black coffee) It's where it's at, it's where it's at
(Black coffee) Oh

A1C (Join to see) - Growing up in South Dakota and Wyoming are main food supply came from wild game and fish. In S.D. We had plenty of pheasants and my Mom would put them up in jars just like vegetable and wild berries. Back in the 50s there were so many pheasants that you were allowed three a day and my Dad would go out to my uncles farm almost every night after work and come home with his limit. In Wyoming we lived on elk, deer, fish, and and sage grouse.

PO3 Bob McCord - I am wondering how many people will start going full prepper after this whole Corona thing? Making me think about doing another big garden this year. We are out of a lot of the stuff we normally can like tomatoes, pastes and sauces as well as peppers and salsas,, we are down to a few jars of pepper jelly. My wife makes 2 types, a mild spice and a super hot spice pepper jelly.
But she is seriously itching to go plant shopping. She and her mother go to all the wholesale nurseries every spring. My wife loves to putter in flowers and ornamentals and I do the gardens mostly with her help. But my Dad, born and lived in the depression grew up that every family did canning and gardens for food. I have his 4 H garden reports from the 1930s. So as I kid I started growing stuff with Dad. He was a terrible hunter though. I learned from others, but after ww2, Dad was not much for hunting.

Word from Facebook friends around the nation who have spoken with law enforcement about "curfews" and "quarantines" has mostly been that the police don't want to enforce any of this, and that even if they did, what would they charge one with? Unless/until the President publicly declares that the Constitution has been suspended, all rights under the law are still in effect. For example, the 1st Amendment guarantee of the right to peaceably assemble, cannot be revoked by state or local governments.

Well thanks for reading it, It was a long article but the prime take away IMHO was for a long list of reasons, its best that LEO are not out front telling the public what they can or cant do but make clear they are following the govts directives. There is some pretty strong reasons for that, mostly to reduce panic and sooth the public, But I will agree no LEO even wants to deal with enforcing rules or laws that basically dictate common sense.
But, While I am not active on facebook, from what I have seen, I would caution anyone against forming any opinions other than anecdotal or a healthy dose of skepticism of anything on Facebook right now.. I scrolled thru my wifes acct and was so disgusted with most of it, Reaffirms why I am not an acct holder. But we have friends and family in LEO in various functions, and I was working Public safety officer for a regional govt agency and my former coworkers are on what is probably the most challenging time of their careers. Suicides are up, Road rage, several shootings including multiple Suicides by cop. Fights breaking out in stores over stupid stuff like the last bag of flour or eggs. CCOM last week had 8 disturbance calls at the Clackamas Costco and are averaging 4 a day at many regional stores. Fights and conflicts. But more specifically to your comments about peaceable assembling, There is many places already issuing citations and in some cases effecting arrests. No constitutional issues... However here in Oregon, and Washington they are toning it down, asking people to comply, Citations are a last resort as well as arrests, but while not making the news, It does happen in some cases here in Oregon and Washington. This should illustrate where are at,,,,
" Are police arresting or ticketing people in public or in violation of the Governor’s Executive Order?
People that violate the Governor’s Order in an Emergency Declaration could be arrested or cited, which is a C Misdemeanor- the lowest level of criminal conduct designation. All Oregon law enforcement are united on the premise that police action is extremely undesirable and we hope to educate Oregonians if congregating in violation of the Governor’s Order. Citation or arrest would be an extreme last resort if a person failed to comply with the lawful direction of a police officer."

SSG(P) (Join to see) This one might be clearer, Basically here in Oregon, they are hoping for compliance rather than enforcement, I have a friend who works intake at the county jail, and they have had 3 related arrests, so they are trying to keep it out of the news, but some people are just going nuts. We had a local shooting, again Suicide by cop earlier today on the Interstate.
“Every effort will be made to gain voluntary compliance with the Governor's order and provide a warning,” according to a PPB statement.
If people do not listen to an officer’s direction, they will be subject to a criminal citation, however police said that is a last resort and “the public is highly encouraged to be aware of the order and voluntarily comply.”
Any business owners who are violating the order will also be given a warning and the opportunity to get in compliance. The governor’s order Monday listed businesses that have been directed to close, including malls, gyms, salons and theaters.
Other businesses are allowed to stay open, as long as workers can telecommute or maintain safe social distancing of six feet.

Community members are urged to refrain from calling 911 about social distancing measures. If there is an identified safety issue related to the governor’s order, people should call non-emergency dispatch at 503-823-333 so the appropriate response can be determined.

SSG(P) (Join to see) In the last 48 hrs, several small town mayors have had to enact stricter rules, virtually shutting down some small towns. Warrenton, Astoria, Lincoln city, Seaside, Hood River and others all are putting in or have already strict rules. The problem was, The Governor passed a toned down order and people promptly ignored it and went to popular destinations, Hiking and sight seeing parks were packed, lines of cars pouring into coastal towns. So, many places shut down. This report is a few days old but you can find coverage if you look, But if you are not a local, you will be confronted. In the last 48 hrs, ALL State and county parks have closed.

LANE COUNTY, Ore. — Over the weekend tourists flocked to the coast taking in the sunshine... something usually welcomed but now during the coronavirus pandemic, not anymore.

Oregon State Parks and Recreation officials announced they have decided to shut down all state parks- this includes beaches.

Governor Kate Brown also declared a long-awaited "Stay at Home" order Monday morning solidifying calls to stay away.

City of Florence Spokesperson, Megan Messmer, urges visitors to abide by the new rules.

"You're putting our community at risk, you're putting yourself at risk, please stay home," said Messmer. "And when this all passes, we will welcome you as we did in the past."

She highlights the fact that with tourism, comes germs and by making a trip this weekend, many could have put permanent residents at risk.

"We don't have enough resources with this influx," said Messmer, "Let alone our own residents."

Once things settle down, Messmer said they'll invite tourists back with open arms.

Many coastal towns, like Florence, are reeling after the spike in recent visits, closing down.

From Astoria to Brookings, towns have closed up shop and shut out any rogue tourists.

"We're small, we're rural, we have limited resources," said Messmer. "We're all sacrificing right now to keep everyone stays safe."

Tillamook Mayor, Suzanne Weber shared a Facebook video echoing these sentiments on Saturday.

"Normally welcome visitors to our home, but right now we need all visitors at the north coast on non-essential business to leave immediately. We look forward to welcoming you back this summer after this pandemic has passed."

She goes on to say, "the COVID-19 pandemic is not just an opportunity for a traveling vacation. It’s a threat to our very lives."

One essential business employee who works at a Florence store describes a nerve-wracking situation, just being around customers.

"I find it incredibly rewarding being able to still contribute in a big way for our community. Especially in a time of need, " said Joseph Delligatti Jr.," The challenging part is trying to provide for our community when we are being limited on the amount of daily essentials for residents by people visiting the coast for vacation."

Another Oregon Coast Resident saw the influx of people firsthand over the weekend.

He shared a video on Facebook showing rows of cars lining Highway 101 southbound through Oswald State Park.

"It's Shocking the lack of respect for our small and elderly community... a virus like this could virtually wipe us out for a multitude of reasons one being age two being lack of essential medical needs not to mention we were virus-free on the coast till this happened," said Nehalem Resident, Marklyn Lienert.

In the video his shock and frustration are evident. He calls on spring breakers to go home to keep the city's residents-many of whom are in their older age- safe and healthy.

As of Monday, officials confirmed one case in Clatsop County. Minutes away from where Lienert's video was taken minutes near the Tillamook Clatsop county line.

"We're a very strong tight-knit community," said Messmer, "we'll bounce back and be strong, it'll just take some time."

For now, she says the streets are quiet, the beaches empty.

"We love it here, that's why we live here but during this time we ask that you postpone your visit until the pandemic dies down," said Messmer.
