SP5 Mark Kuzinski There are two things one I think this is great, but of course there will probably be someone that will screw it up for the rest of us. 2) There are some people even in the military that should not be handling weapons and it is those individuals who will screw it up for everyone else. My husband is ecstatic about this, he hunts on base too. Being able to prevent someone from hurting others I think everyone can agree with would be beneficial. Military personnel are taught to react in perilous situations so why shouldn't we be given rights to carry everywhere? I also like the possibility of a concealed permit that carries over to all 50 states.

Good morning SPC Britanny *Winnie* Balthaser - great comments. And yes I'm all for the "Concealed and Carry" across all 50 States.

Read the order only authorizes it when: b. Arming DoD personnel other than law enforcement and security personnel will be considered for locations where law enforcement or security personnel are not located on site or in a reasonable proximity. For example, DoD personnel assigned recruiting duties should not be armed when visiting high schools that have law enforcement or security personnel on site.

You husband won't be carrying on base any time soon. This would be a NIGHTMARE for the Military Police. It's still against FEDERAL LAW to carry a personal weapon on base with a few exceptions. Semper Fi.

MGySgt James Forward - They hunt they have a special permit to do so. Just because you are against it doesn't mean others are. As a prior MP, they are limited in their reach, especially now that we have civilian guards on post. We have obviously seen issues with people being able to get on post with firearms and kill people. Why should my husband and others be put at risk, and not be able to protect themselves?

Hunting with a special permit is totally different that carrying a personal weapon or open carry for protection purposes. Again, read the order, it states what is allowed and when, if you have military or civilian Police (ie; you live on a military base) then you don't get this option. You would also have to have a creditable threat in order to apply for this. So are you really implying that no one is safe on your base? Semper Fi.
PS: Yes, I am against this for the increased issues it would cause LEO's.

I have never understood why members of the armed forces are not trusted to bear arms.
