I feel with the nerve gas, this had to be the worst war that had been.

1SG(P) Dean Mcbride (MPER) (SPHR) - Walter Brennan, the actor had that scratchy voice from mustard gas in WW1. At least, that is what I have heard.

SPC Lyle Montgomery Good Trivia question/Answer... He served in an artillery unit during WW1 and, although he got through the war without being wounded, his exposure to poison gas ruined his vocal cords, leaving him with the high-pitched scratchy voice that made him a natural for old man roles, while still in his 30s.

Thanks Dale, This is an intresting read. Combat has an effect on all who did it. Sometimes it takes years for the problems to materalise. Most men just deal with it and go on with their lives. I was fortunate to have a faith in God and married a great girl, my wife of 51 years. They saved my ass.
