Thank you my friend CW5 Jack Cardwell for sharing the music video of Jimi Hendrix Experience performing 'Voodoo Child' (Slight Return) from the Electric Ladyland album. This would be the third and final album from The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

The last he played this song live was in Germany on 9/16/1970 which was 12 days before he died.

Well LTC Stephen Ford .. I surmise I might know you were not in Germany for that Jimi Hendrix concert in ‘70. andof course neither was I. .. I was at my Reserve Squadron helping the riggers to set up pallets(I didn’t have to be there.. I wasn’t expected to do drill until October.. [i had just completed BMT in August.] Our drill was earlier in the month, I volunteered to help pack the gear on the pallets for an experience and boy what an experience !).
Cmdr. & 1SGT got word from riggers what a help I had been along with some other extras.. I got the October check at end of the month.. I had to look twice. There was another drill pay on the check.. it was by chance I was still at the house when the call came. It was the 1SGT asking how I liked the October check..
Cmdr got riggers to put me on their drill manifest . But Services budget would pick up paying me.. So with Cooperation between riggers and services I had a double paycheck. Cmdr asked finance if they could spread the tax for those extra 2 days onto the next month.. Their idea of spreading was to just put an extra day on each month .. so I had an extra day’s pay on October and November. That worked out better.. In November, Cmdr
and 1SGT had their attention focussed to my training jacket by the Sqdn Training Sergeant.. (I was getting my next skill
level CDCs done ahead of schedule. and my Volumes.. only she had to spread out send’g them in(she had the corrector overlay cards thet came with my books]

Could only be 1 volume done per month in the Jacket. I suggested we have an extra training jacket.. i’ll Just get them done, she could “grade” them , i’ll Keep in my jacket and pass them to her and she could send them in. So we did that.. I kept it in my drawer under the.Ts & undershirts .. safest place.. nobody wants to touch that stuff, even clean.. So they wanted to reward me with some extra drill-time. .. so how’d I want it? A couple weeks in Germany?.. He said he’d see what could be done, no promise.. ( I’d already told how I pulled doing BMT between 11th gr. & Senior year and got back in time to do Sr. Year[a lot of waiver getting and actions taken and gentlemen's{persons} agreements . Of course, the needs of the Reserves and AF take presidence). So I kept my mouth clapped, not telling kids knew, Not even my girlfriend, that was hard.. ( practice commsec), packed a couple bags.. and away I went.. it was nice, a half month of pay, 15 days worth !
I had buds ask’g where I been all Christmas vacay.. “away, in the service of our country !”... where? I can’t allocute, sorry ! .. One of my adversaries blocked my way and demanded where I been..

They said they could have it in 2 weeks.. how much for 2x... $19.75 or s’thing like that. She said she could have a order form to my home in four days.. I got it and saw on the back a list of exchange addresses. I found the right one and express-sent it. They had in 2 days and I had the shirt in 12, 13 days time.. I took it in and he wasn’t in his classroom.. He’s home sick , a substitute informed me.. I knew where he lived... only a half mile away.. I went and rang his doorbell ..
unique.. like bells in a church in the mountains.. a few minutes later a little elf-like woman answered; “allo, vat can I do for you?” I have s pkg for Mr. Hans Freedmann and I handed it to her.. she took it and opened it.. Her eyes lit up ..
