That's just one more reason to get rid of horse racing. The horses are even tired of it.

SPC Cody Verba - Oh yes I would absolutely just love someone on my back making me carry them around in a race while whipping me.
Just because some may get "special treatment" there are horses that are abused. Drugged, whipped, sometimes shocked during races. Some are given Lasix - which is something that makes whoever gets it pee more and most of them don't need it. Trainers thinks it makes them "lighter" and run faster. My daughter was on Lasix when she had her crappy kidneys because she'd always get bad edema from the kidneys not working right. That's what it's for. Not to make a horse run faster for entertainment. Trainers also abuse phenylbutazone on the horses. There's a lot of things trainers will give horses that they don't need just to "make them faster."
Sorry but that just doesn't sound like the best life even if some of them get great treatment in other areas. Especially when it's solely for them to be ridden for someone's entertainment.
