In the first minute I was surprised that at the fact that he wasn't holding the weapon down and into his shoulder. The M-60 tried to walk away from you if you didn't. That was the first lesson I learned. I couldn't put the required 6 rounds in a one inch square target at 25 meters until I was properly instructed. Beyond that, the M-60 was my favorite weapon. Of course, as an officer, it wasn't my job to crew one. Still, at the Infantry School where I attended BCT, AIT, and OCS, it was my favorite. Loved the walk through course where you wore it with a sling over the shoulder, the belt in a box attached to the side, and fired from the hip. Aim low and let it walk the rounds into the target. Yep, just loved it...

I was wondering who would be the first to call it what it is. I humped the pig for 2 years.

SPC John Smith - You have my respect. My oldest son is a 240B Gunner at Fort Campbell and they call it the Pig. I told him it had to be the Pig II. The original title will always be with the M60.

Back in my glory days. You can just see the top of the pig and I have the feed tray cover pins in my hand. I was doing a field strip and check prior to moving out.
